As an Family Child Care Coordinator (FCCC), you will manage and implement the Family Child Care Option program under the guidance of the Area Manager. You’ll connect families to licensed providers, conduct site visits, and foster relationships with local agencies. By coordinating training, workshops, and parent engagement, you’ll help create a nurturing and educational environment for children ages 0-5.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD), or related field, with two years of teaching experience with children ages 0-5.
Minimum of twelve ECE/CD core units and three infant/toddler development units (or completion within one year of employment).
Experience in public relations, presentations, training, and workshops is highly desirable.
If working for the State Child Development program, must hold or qualify for a Site Supervisor Permit within 30 days of employment.
Experience in a licensed day care center or comparable home day care for children ages 0-5.
Dependable, insured transportation and a valid California Driver License (mileage reimbursed).
As a Family Child Care Coordinator you will be responsible for:
Recruit and enroll children in the Early Education and Child Care program.
Understand and follow program policies on confidentiality, privacy, and ethics.
Orient parents to program services (health, nutrition, education, disabilities, mental health, parent engagement, ERSEA).
Support Migrant and Seasonal Head Start families; identify needs and opportunities.
Connect families to referral systems and community services; ensure follow-up.
Discuss importance of coordinating health, social, and educational services for child development and family well-being.
Assist families in finding health and dental care; encourage participation in health care system; help with screenings and maintain records.
Stay informed about local social services and resources (health, mental health, nutrition, parenting, financial literacy, education, recreation, job training, employment).
Collaborate with Family Child Care Coordinator on monthly parent committee meetings; support members and projects.
Help with Parent Meetings (schedule speakers, prepare agenda, sign-in attendees).
Encourage parent participation in program and community events.
Attend and participate in community collaborations (e.g., Healthy Start, local agencies).
Maintain accurate documentation of family and child services.
Maintain knowledge of database programs (e.g., ChildPlus).
Complete reports and follow-up as requested by Content Experts and Area Manager/Center Supervisor.
