SCUSD is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Education professional interested in making a difference in the lives of young children. As one of our dynamic and experienced site leaders, you will ensure your program provides hands-on, developmentally appropriate educational activities, enriched and inviting indoor and outdoor classroom environments, and lead your team of child development professionals to create a positive early learning experience for children and their families.

HOURS:

• Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
• Must be available to open the center if necessary at 7:15 am
• Hours, schedule, and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA in Early Childhood Education or related field and a current Child Development Teacher Permit or Higher; 3-5 years of teaching experience working with children ages 3-12 years old in a preschool and after school enrichment program. Some key areas of responsibility: -Responsible for the day to day organization and operation of program -Provide leadership in creating high quality Early Education and Youth Development Program for preschool and school age children -Provide leadership in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children -Manage center financial, marketing and enrollment functions -Ensure the health and safety needs of the children are met and issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately -Use positive discipline in classroom management techniques -Site Supervisor responsibilities

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide leadership in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children for preschool children.

• Responsible for ongoing development, implementation, evaluation and oversight of the child-centered, play-based curriculum for all children
• Knowledge of and/or experience with High Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, QRIS, Preschool Learning Foundations, Teaching Pyramid, Desired Results Developmental Profile and/or ECERS preferred.
• Manage center financial, marketing and enrollment functions.
• Ability to clearly convey messages regarding organizational policies, procedures and practices.
• Ability to perform job duties with minimum supervision.
• Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction and practicing good health habits
• Ensure all health and safety protocols are implemented and practiced in the classroom as outlined by SCUSD and FCE.
• Create exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences.
• Work collaboratively with other staff by role modeling workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
• Ability to problem solve, use good judgment, communicate effectively both verbally & in writing, set priorities and goals, resolve conflict, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Provide excellent customer service for families, school, and community.
• Site Supervisor may be in ratio to assist with breaks/absences.
