We are looking for a self-motivated and talented communications manager to lead our communications efforts. In this position, you will be in charge of producing high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition.
Your main duties will also include creating informative content, press releases, articles, and media opportunities to share our company’s brand, products, and services. Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as needed. Desire to take full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with brilliant presentation and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a fast-paced, small office environment.
This is an in-person position, three days in the office and two days hybrid.
Creative:
- Oversee all communications for the association, ensuring our messaging is consistent and engaging
- Create informative and visually interesting content for marketing materials
- Manage creative execution to provide a consistent, targeted, and impactful message
- Manage the design, content, and production of new marketing materials
- Create marketing strategies for new products, events, and promotions
- Ensure branding is consistent and up to date with current trends
- Work with leadership to develop new branding strategies as needed
- Build virtual events utilizing programs such as Socio, WebEx Events, Whova, and others
- Supervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready
Community:
- Develop effective communication strategies that build member loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction
- Work with staff to generate ideas and understand the unique needs of our community
- Engage in learning about and advocating for high-quality Early Learning and Care programs in California
- Create press releases and related marketing material
- Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner
Reporting:
- Manage the organization’s communication and marketing calendar
- Coordinate the information needed to execute the communication schedule on time and successfully; this includes requesting missing information
- Work with executive staff on any barriers impacting a campaign’s success
- Prepare detailed media activity reports
- Analyze and report back on the success of campaigns
Requirements and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, social media, public relations or relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience working in a similar role
- Proven experience creating targeted content is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of communication practices, tools and techniques.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and copywriting skills
- Experience supporting diverse communities
- Ability to produce work that speaks in support of equity and inclusion
- Excellent organizational, planning, and leadership abilities.
- Possess essential skills in Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience working in MailChimp or other similar software, executing robust email campaigns that may include drip marketing, responsive content, and other contemporary marketing tools.
- Experience with layout software such as InDesign or Canva.
- Ability to create essential graphics as needed., with a strong design sensibility.
- Experiencing with social media manager software such as Hootsuite or similar
- Self-motivation and the ability to meet critical deadlines
- Proactive approach to the role
